Can I remove the cold water tank from my system and have the hot water cylinder fed direct from the mains?
I have a hot water tank in my house which is fed by a cold water tank situated in the loft (not mains). I want to convert the loft space into a proper room and therefore want to get rid of the cold water tank. Is there a reason why the cold water tank feeds into the hot water cylinder, and if so what is it? Can I not have hot water cylinder fed by mains water?

Why does salt water work better than regular water when trying to prooduce an electric current?
I am performing an experiment in which you wet your hands, place one on an aluminum plate and one on a copper plate, and it produces an electric current when connected to a DC micrfo ammeter. Wet hands produce more of a current than dry hands because water conducts electricity. Why does salt water work better than plain water? And why does tap water work better than distilled water? I believe both have something to do with ions but I’m not sure. Help me please!

To maintain a water well, what are the estimated annual maintenance costs?
I am considering having a water well drilled to use for watering a new lawn I am planning to start this fall. The cost for drilling the well and installing the pump and running electricity to the pump was quoted at almost 00. Aside from this initial up front costs, what regualar maintenance costs should I anticipate. I have a neighbor who said he considered a well, but the upkeep on it turned him away. He mentioned the water needing to be treated, wells closing up and needing to be cleared out, etc. I watered my grass a lot this summer and the water big was quite expensive, but I don’t want to trade one big expense for another. I’m mainly getting the well to save money because we already have city water service.

How good do you have to be at swimming to join a high school swim team?
I really love swimming and I would love to join the swim team but I don’t want to go to tryouts and miserably fail. So what time should I aim for if I want to get accepted? Also do you need to know the butterfly stroke because I really don’t know it… Also will they take sort of beginners? I mean I know how to swim but its not like people pride me in it.

When boiling water for pasta, is it better to start with cold water or hot water out of the sink?
For some reason I remember hearing from my dad when I was younger that you should always start with cold water, but i cant remember why. Now I am in college trying to cook for myself and some kids are starting with hot water, while other kids are starting with cold water.
